Mike Nichols: American Masters, directed by legend Elaine May, is a tribute to his 50-year career as a performer and director…Everything is Copy, a documentary on the late and great Nora Ephron, will premiere on HBO in March 2016…the cult of Joan Didion continues to be documented, with a new biography by Tracy Daugherty, articles in the New York Review of Books, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and Vogue…Leonine Films favorite Sofia Coppola makes her opera début at La Scala, directing a production of La Traviata with costumes by Valentino, no less…this year’s Berlinale competition contenders include Mia Hansen-Løve’s L’Avenir, Ivo Ferreira’s Cartas da Guerra, Lav Diaz’s Hele Sa Hinagang Hapis, Alex Gibney’s Zero Days and Andre Téchiné’s Quand on a 17 Ans.
