Sometimes a movie gives you everything you expect it to and it is good: a close group of friends, a misunderstood alien, authority figures gone wrong, a martyred mother, and American suburbia in the 1970’s. Most of all, at least one character you can relate to: in my case, it was the overweight kid with dreams of being an auteur. A fine summer film for those of us who grew up with classic Spielberg.
