Festival de Cannes: Lars Von Trier

Lars von Trier was recently banned from Cannes after making several pro-Nazi remarks. This is a problem as old as cinema itself: do we punish artists commercially or critically when they have offended personally? See: Woody Allen, Roman Polanski, Leni Riefenstahl. At least in the case of LVT, I say yes. His films are pretentious, sexist, tiresome, and unpleasant.
